The Diocese of Exeter and the Lee Abbey Small Missional Communities, supported by Lee Abbey Devon, are partnering in establishing a Missional community in Plymouth.

The community will be based in a former vicarage with a vision to plant a new congregation into the adjoining modern church and to serve in the local community.

The hope is to begin to find community members in Autumn 2020 and to launch the new initiatives.

The new initiative in Ford, Plymouth is both exciting and challenging for those who God calls to join the new Small Missional Community.   The Lee Abbey Rule of Life and the SMC Hallmarks will provide a framework for the new community to discover together how God wants to lead them as a community of people who seek Him first.   There will be the challenge of forming community together  – ‘rooted and grounded in love’  and establishing a new rhythm of life.   The adjacent, available church will offer a place to pray, a place to develop community activities, and a place to gather people to encounter God blended with the gifts, talents and vision of the new community will provide the challenge to discover how to be missional.

Please pray as we recruit 4 new community members to join Jon who has already agreed to join the emerging community.  Community members will follow the Lee Abbey rule of life and SMC hallmarks. Normally they find part-time employment to then be able to offer time to the mission and ministry of the community.
